Form & Space

The Art of Seeing

Every project begins with a question. What follows is a process of research, experimentation, problem-solving, and creation.

An exploration of animal-centered designs in science. This work was made to practice habitat planning and the balance between visitor experience and animal welfare, all while doing so on a set budget and working on challenges that appeared along the way.

A hands-on theater construction project involving the design and assembly of the set for The Little Shop of Horrors. From sketching the original layout and taping out measurements on the floor to repeatedly taking down, adjusting, and rebuilding big sections, the process involved trial and error. One of our biggest challenges was running out of lumber with no available wood within a 200-mile radius! Despite the setbacks, we managed to bring the design together, construct the stage itself, the platforms, staircase, and balcony.

Inquiry & Innovation

The Curiosity to Explore

Environmental research and exploration of the importance of protecting local ecosystems and natural resources.

Since 2020, Sarah Anne has explored the importance of protecting local ecosystems and natural resources through creative, interactive projects. She has developed online escape rooms, Minecraft servers, and youth camp activities designed to engage young people in environmental awareness and demonstrate how one person can make a difference.

An investigation into irrigation, agriculture, and the relationship between water and sustainable growing practices.

Vision to Vitality - a research and writing project based off of Peter Thiel’s, “Zero to One,” exploring the relationship between ideas, development, and the world around us. The project brought together research, critical thinking, and written communication all to investigate a larger concept and its real-world implications… especially on what not to do when starting a company.

Concept & Creation

The Joy of Making

A creative model building project exploring the characteristics of different biomes through a miniature environment. The project combined research, visual design, and hands-on constructing to represent the unique features of an ecosystem in one physical model.

Along with the genetics project, a model of a dragon made of clay. Different colors mimic different inherited genes.

A visual research project exploring genetics for a younger audience. The project focused on communicating scientific concepts - such as genes and DNA - in an engaging and accessible way.
